Imperial Sugar President to discuss corporate culture with Houston-area executives

HOUSTON, TEXAS, August 15, 2011 - The top man at Imperial Sugar will share with executives about how they can sweeten up their corporate cultures on Thursday at a luncheon presented by the Houston Strategy Forum (HSF).

“All enterprises must transform their culture from time to time to sustain their competitive advantage,” said John Sheptor, president and CEO of Imperial Sugar Co. “Acting quickly and decisively often makes the difference between sustained success and demise.”

Corporate culture is the culmination of how everyone in an organization, from management to front-line employees, behaves and thinks, said Ravi Kathuria, HSF's founder and president. Culture reflects the combination of conduct and mindset.

The Houston Strategy Forum (HSF) is an organization for corporate executives that helps its members gain real-world, practical insights into solving their management and leadership challenges.

“Your company may have the best developed mission, vision, goals and strategy, and yet it may fail without the right culture,” Kathuria said. “At the August luncheon, we will deal with the difficult subject of transforming your enterprise culture.”

As with previous luncheons, Kathuria and the guest speaker will facilitate an interactive, group discussion on the topic. The August 18 luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the HESS Club, 5430 Westheimer. Visitors’ tickets range from $55 to $90. Tickets and additional information are available at HoustonStrategyForum.com. Advanced registration is required because seating is limited.

At the Sept. 29 luncheon, Jim Compton, chief revenue officer for United Airlines, will share about how to drive revenues. And on Oct. 20, HSF will welcome John Reed, CEO of Global Industries, who will speak about ways business leaders can align their organizations with their strategies.

The Houston Strategy Forum is sponsored by Agama Advertising, Cohegic Corporation and CyrusOne.
